20 Sep Color Crush: Natural Oak

Go with the grain through Natural Oak, an organic and authentic neutral. This earthy, warm hue is a fresh start for a design scheme and transitions effortlessly from chic summer styles to fashionable autumn flair. Use Natural Oak to add a dash of character and simplicity with wooden home decor. This color reminds us to stay grounded and feel the connection to the environment around us. As an accent piece or base color in both interiors and fashion, Natural Oak creates classic appeal.

Material Matters

We spoke with Jesse Leigh Vickers of JLV Architecture on how to utilize the versatile hue, Natural Oak. “It’s honestly kind of hard not to use the color PMS 467, Natural Oak, in your home decor. It’s the color of jute, certain wood species, many woven blinds, and a lot of other natural materials found throughout the home. Natural Oak should be a go to color to add warmth and layers to your space. It mixes well with nearly every color. Going big with this Pantone shade could look like choosing Natural Oak colored hardwood floors or kitchen cabinets. If you want to experiment with incorporating PMS 467 into your existing space without being quite so committed, I suggest bringing in a jute rug either as your main rug or as a layering rug for just a hint of the color. Layering in woven blinds in PMS 467 is also a mid-size commitment that can exist as your sole window covering or combine with drapery. For an even smaller dose of the color you can try a little Natural Oak accent in your art and picture frames or in small accessories sprinkled throughout.”

House Warming

Natural Oak is a solid foundation to integrate warmth into your interior’s color palette. Take advantage of the texture and dimension of Natural Oak in your spaces. Pair this color with crisp white and classic black for a minimal, yet stylish palette. Color lovers can change it up and create comfort by mixing in muted pastels for a softer look. A raw, artisan aesthetic can be easily achieved when nurturing Natural Oak.
