The Design
Designed by 3north and Poesis Design, the hotel’s aesthetic honors the history of the old Italian Renaissance styled building. The designers were able to preserve the signature segmental arches, vaulted ceilings and ornamental iron staircase from the original structure of the building while adding a fresh, contemporary take on the interior.

The Quirk Gallery
The hotel treasures its connection to local artists through the Quirk Gallery, which the hotel was actually created as an extension of! The gallery promotes and features work from local artists, both emerging and established. The Quirk Hotel has been described as a “distinctive art showcase” featuring artwork in each room from the local design scene in Richmond and Petersburg.

Maple & Pine
The sophisticated design of Quirk Hotel’s signature restaurant, Maple & Pine, is reminiscent of the building’s original style. Serving locally-sourced foods, each season offers fresh, finely curated fare. Designed as an interactive gathering place for the local community along with visitors, a stop at Maple & Pine immerses guests into their artistic surroundings.
