About The Company
HDB Design Group is a full-service interior design and purchasing firm specializing in hospitality design with projects reaching as far North as Alaska and as far South as the Keys.  Our team has worked together for close to two decades – we are family.  Every member of HDB brings a special talent to each project to assure everything runs smoothly and our clients are delighted with the final project.

HDB Design Groups’ First Concept – Ombre Effect

Where did you get your start as designers?
TB
– My design career started in an architectural firm where I learned more of the technical side of design. I then worked for a full-service hospitality design firm where I got to expand my knowledge and express more of my creative side. This is where I met all the great people I get to work with every day.

DD – My design career started in New York City working for a design firm in the Wall Street area.  As much as I enjoyed office design and working in NYC, moving to Florida was a great decision.  That move resulted in an amazing design job with a top hospitality design firm in Ormond Beach. Great weather, great job, great life!

What got you to start your own firm?
We formed HDB Design Group after many years of working together at the same design firm. We opened our doors February 2010, at a time when many design firms were closing.  We have been very fortunate to have great clients that continue to reach out to us for their renovation and new construction projects.

How would you describe your design styles?
Our design style is Contemporary but classic. We are always keeping form, function and longevity of products in mind for the client and the performance of each space.

HDB Design Groups’ Second Concept – Geometric Pattern with Organic Overlay

Can you tell us about one project you are extremely proud of?
We enjoy all of our projects and the collaboration with our clients to meet their specific goals.  It’s difficult to select one.

How would you describe the work environment in your studio?
Our studio is high energy at times but mostly a casual, relaxed space. It’s where all our team members can collaborate and inspire each other.

Do you have any hobbies outside of the studio?
TB
– I spend most of my free time outside of the studio with my 2 energetic boys. They keep me busy camping, swimming, having fun and enjoying life.

DD – My passion outside of the studio is cooking.  I love to experiment with international cuisines, trying new spices, herbs and cooking methods. The most memorable times are spent with friends and family around a dinner table with exciting new flavors and presentation.

Are there any trends that you see potentially altering the industry?
We have been seeing much more creativity in lighting design with the use of LED, more sculptural light fixtures with integrated LED which will continue to grow.  We also see the use of local resources and artisans becoming more popular which is great for the local communities.

Pattern Inspiration
We wanted to create a pattern with multiple layers. The pattern inspiration came from nature and geometric designs seen on structures in our area and abroad. The Lebatex design team captured this concept with the pattern’s detailed organic design with pops of color and a neutral geometric overlay.
