Lovers adorn the beaches of the Catalan coast and the Balearic Islands during the busy summer months, but romance can be found year-round in Barcelona, especially around Valentine’s Day- a perfect time to experience the majestic, enticing city like a love-addled local.

El Palauet Living, a luxury boutique all-suite hotel on Passeig de Gracia, beset with romantic vibes, adds to those amorous feelings with round-the-clock personal assistants to attend to every wish. With all one’s queries sorted, paramours can embark on a worry-free journey of indulgence and pleasure.

A culinary treasure, Barcelona has numerous restaurants, both glamorous and snug to fulfill the needs of couples, new or well established. El Palauet’s staff is extraordinarily versed in local dining options, and can easily arrange dinners across the pulsing city, or if you’d prefer, can arrange for a private chef to cook en suite. Valentine’s Day is a superb evening to try a dimly lit, dark walled hideaway like El Pla, in Barrio Gotic, a divine space from whose lofty ceilings descends a candelabra-cum-chandelier, dousing the space in the flickering, warm glow of shimmering candles. For those looking to make a first impression, views of the entire city are seen from La Barceloneta along the waterfront from high atop the teleferic tower at Torre d’Alta Mar. But close to El Palauet (within just a 5 minute walk) in Barrio Gracia, tucked away on a small side street, lies Gut, a white-walled enclave with simple, wooden tables. The creamy exterior exudes privacy and comfort, and the yellowed bulb lights provide a suitably dim and romantic escape in the bohemian Gracia neighborhood.

Surrounding El Palauet is a bevy of intimate, warm bars ideal for courting your paramour. Le Journal transports you with a tropical vibe, with wooden paneled walls and straw ceilings, and the reggae-infused soundtrack sets a romantic mood. Old Fashioned is another favorite for date night, with 1920’s styled music, service, and bartenders decked out in suspender-clad uniform.

For a more personalized and special treat, the gracious staff of El Palauet can arrange for a private 2-hour sail around the harbor at sunset. Have your personal assistant arrange a ride to the Bunkers of Carmel, abandoned anti-aircraft defenses on the hilltops offering panoramic views of the city, or set yourself up on a “Make Your Own Cava” experience in the vineyards of the Penedes region, complete with a private tour of the vineyard, a tasting, and complete the final step in the cava making process yourself!

With all of these options sure to wow the interest of your affections, deciding can be nay impossible. Perhaps the most suitable activity is none at all. Within the baroque, homey walls of El Palauet Living, you can spend quiet moments with your sweetheart, immersed in a bubble bath and bottle of cava arranged by your concierge. Enjoy the immaculate beds, sinking in as you lie together in adulation. At sundown, head upstairs to the rooftop bar and enjoy famous Catalan wine while watching the sun settle over the mountains to the west. For just this occasion, El Palauet offers a Romance Package for couples, featuring a minimum 2-night stay in a luxury suite with a complimentary bottle of cava, complete with a couples massage and breakfast served en suite by your personal assistant.

Whether you choose to explore the impassioned, cozy restaurants of Barrio Gracia, or spend a tender, romantic evening in your luxury suite, El Palauet Living’s gracious accommodations are uniquely equipped to service your needs, and provide the ideal backdrop for a lover’s getaway.

Woo, Very interesting post, Balearic Islands is my favorite place. The island of Majorca has long been a favorite of the world’s rich and famous and A-list celebrities continue to flock there in the summer months to enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches, cafes, fine cuisine and picturesque villages that dot the coastline.
