STACY GARCIA COMMERCIAL X BRINTONS COLLABORATION

With Stacy having over 20 years of experience designing product for the hospitality industry, and Brintons as a globally known leading supplier of wool carpet for over 200 years, both teams bring unmatchable skillsets to the table. Stacy fuses her expertise in color and pattern with Brintons’ manufacturing capabilities to create unique product that bring Stacy’s New York aesthetic to the British roots of carpet design.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

Moving a product from concept to completion is a very collaborative process. From dying the yarn, to the weaving and finishing, Brintons controls the entire manufacturing process. What once began as paintings on point paper, has now become fully digital making the design possibilities endless.

Overseeing this process is Brintons’ full service team of sales executives, field designers, project management planners, and customer service who all work to bring Stacy’s vision to life. With the new Vantage collection, every single detail had to be considered as it features more variety in color and texture in order to showcase each pattern in the collection as its own piece of artwork.

INSPIRATION FOR VANTAGE

When designing a new product, Stacy and her team heavily rely on two things: trend forecasting and inspiration. For the Vantage Collection, one of the main drivers was the overarching macro trend of Wellness, a trend Stacy’s team had forecasted over 2 years ago. With this trend trickling down to interior spaces, Stacy designed the collection around the concept of biophilic design and biomimicry – the idea that human beings have attraction toward nature. Beauty of our natural environment became the inspiration for the collection resulting in emulating patterns which convey a wonderful blend of abstraction and realism.

Vantage comes at a prominent time in the world where we find ourselves making more conscious decisions including the environment in which we choose to surround ourselves in. In response to this, the collection serves the purpose of creating a space that makes people feel good as they reconnect with nature inspired elements resulting in a sense of comfort and calm.

MOVING FORWARD

Vantage offers patterns which can be used in both large public spaces and corridors, enabling the designer to tell a complete story. The collection will not only appeal to hotels & resorts, but also casinos, convention spaces, and even hotel guest rooms to create an amazing wow factor. With a rising focus on wellness in these spaces, hopefully this collection will raise the bar in the industry, inspiring other designers to make more conscious decisions by creating products that make people feel good.
