This month we are very excited to present our first ever Spotted feature for a Stacy Garcia | New York product! We recently spoke with Cipi Rosenberg of CMR Design about a residential project in Lakewood, New Jersey. This home features a spacious kitchen which uses our Aquarella wallpaper to help seamlessly integrate warmth, comfort and elegance into the space.

CMR Design was most inspired by the home’s surrounding location. While located near a bustling south Jersey town, a winding road leads you from the hustle and bustle of town to a beautiful home surrounded by trees and tranquility. CMR Design wanted to incorporate this soothing oasis into the design of the house by blending soft tones, natural patterns and lots of natural light. Therefore, our Aquarella wallpaper helps achieve this style with its oversized watercolor blooms, translucent and opaque blended inks, and matte white or pearlescent background.

Stacy Garcia: Why did you choose Aquarella wallcovering for this project?

Cipi Rosenberg: The bold floral pattern was the perfect touch of nature that this large family-friendly kitchen needed. Plus, I have a special affinity for watercolor prints.

SG: Where do you look for design inspiration?

CR: Oh, everywhere. The world is filled with endless sources of inspiration. Be it nature, important landmarks and buildings or other talented designers of past and present.

SG: What’s your favorite space to design? How do you make it stand out?

CR: I love creating family friendly spaces. From kitchens to family rooms and game rooms. I enjoy creating functional yet beautiful spaces. Spaces that will ‘wow’, yet still remain practical.

SG: What trends are you seeing in interior design?

CR: Design is getting ever more creative and ingenious. Gone are the days of ‘sticking to the rules’. The more daring, the more bold, the more color…the better. We are also seeing a definite shift from the cool minimalist mod to a softer pallet and style using more natural and mineral tones.

SG: Which colors and materials do you use the most?

CR: I would say a large pallete of neutrals with calculated pops of color. I love woods of all kind, chrome and brass and textured fabrics.

SG: How would you describe your personal design style?

CR: A classic blend of clean contemporary design with some traditional elements and materials in a soft neutral pallete.
