29 May Trend Story: Natura

Encapsulating earth’s complex nuances, Natura, brings organic elements to life through vibrant hues and a wonderful blend of abstraction and realism. Featuring designs inspired by uninhibited forms, colors and textures, this trend allows us to really experience the essence of mother nature and more closely examine the components both large and small which make it so intriguing.

For Part 1 of the trend series, see our 3 favorite palettes below.

The Happy Earth Palette

Similar to a beautiful stained glass window, a butterfly’s wing inspires a look of imperfect fragments of color which all fit together like a puzzle piece. From the soft curves of the wing’s silhouette to the rich colors reminiscent of a Moroccan Sunset, these elements were extracted to result in a palette that is both warm and happy. Symbolic of the process of metamorphosis, this look can completely transform a space from dull and dreary to bright and bursting with life.

The Aqueous Forms Palette

Imagine the feeling you get listening to the soft ripples of flowing water. Overcome with a sense of relaxation,  this soothing sound is translated into a graphic visual made up of dimensional water droplets and long curved lines to represent the depth and seemingly endless flow of water. A range of blues from Deep Sea to a crisp Crystal Water accentuate the calming vibe for a serene environment. When used in longer, narrow spaces this look helps the flow of foot traffic making us feel as if we are just floating along.

The Electric Forest Palette

Become swaddled in a canopy of foliage as the unique shape and vibrant Ginko tree serves as inspiration for this lively palette. A mix of energetic greens including an electrifying Zest and mossy green paired with shades of teal tones provides a dimensional effect allowing the space to thrive with life. This bold look can transform a large space such as restaurant or hotel lobbies into a tropical oasis!
